Integrated Movement & rehab

In our exercise and rehab programs, we start with an evaluation to see where your body is and what we need to work on to get you out of pain, help you reach an optimal level of fitness, or help you to reach specific fitness goals. We focus on posture and core strength as the foundation of human movement. We will teach you how to read your personalized conditioning program and how to perform your exercises correctly. Integrated movement is all about allowing the body to work dynamically, using movements that will enhance everyday activities. Our programs are developed using concepts and movements from Functional Patterns and the C.H.E.K Institute. We offer one on one exercise coaching programs and small group training programs. We believe using correct posture and core engagement will take pressure off your joints and spine, which allows you to optimize your energy use during movement.

Some of the problems that typically respond to our rehabilitative exercise paradigm are listed below:

  • Orthopedic rehabilitation for low back/SIJ/neck/shoulder/knee/foot pain

  • TMJ dysfunction

  • Chronic Migraines

  • Neurological diseases (stroke rehabilitation, etc)

  • Auto-immune Diseases

  • Chronic pain and dysfunction that others are having issues treating!

The typical process consists of five steps:

  1. Initial Consultation: This will involve completion of health history and lifestyle questionnaires as well as a discussion of your hopes and goals of beginning an exercise program.

  2. Level I/Level II Assessment: This process will take one to two hours to complete and it may include referrals to other health practitioners or for lab tests. It may include a postural analysis, upper cervical spine test, abdominal wall testing, length/tension testing of spinal column, range of motion testing of major muscle groups, primal pattern testing, gait analysis and a bio-motor ability test.

  3. Program Design: This process lasting anywhere from 1-2 hours, is done on the practitioners own time. The program will be designed based on the findings of your assessment and questionnaires. The program will take into consideration time and equipment constraints.

  4. Program Education/Exercise Coaching: This includes personal instruction on how to read your conditioning program and how to perform your exercises correctly.

  5. Progression/ Reassessment: Depending on genetic make up and progress, the program will need to be updated every two to six weeks. A re-evaluation will be performed prior to the advancement of the exercise program.
